Abstract

The research goal is the investigation and modification of surfaces and solids at the atomic level using ion beams. In the process, ions with kinetic energies of a few kilo-electronvolts to a few mega-electronvolts are placed with nanometre precision. One goal is the production of quantum devices and the functionalisation of individual atoms in a solid body such as diamond.
