The Leipzig Institute for Meteorology is part of the Faculty of Physics and Earth System Sciences at the University of Leipzig. At the Institute, 90 employees research and teach under six chairs with eight working groups. The Institute is closely networked in research and teaching by four joint professorships and one honorary professorship at the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research and one honorary professorship each with the German Aerospace Center and the Helmholtz Institute for Environmental Research.
